So, why bookkeeping?
I'm Csilla, a bookkeeper based in Rotterdam. I spent 20+ years in international marketing, before qualifying as a Certified Bookkeeper in 2023. I know what it is like to start a business in the Netherlands coming from abroad, and I built ChillAdmin to be the bookkeeper I would have wanted.
How it happened
I grew up in Hungary in the final years of socialism and watched my father start a business as soon as it became possible. I saw how much purpose and energy it gave him.
When my husband left a short corporate career to build our own company, I took on the administration. That is where I learned what entrepreneurs really deal with: finances, structure and taxes.
I started at Unilever as a marketer. After I moved to the Netherlands, I led the European personal care category with P&L responsibility. I didn't just receive the financial reports: I built and analysed them, and led the innovation and savings that grew the business. That's why I explain your numbers instead of just filing them.
I know what it is like to start a business in the Netherlands coming from abroad. And I know a frustration many business owners share: bookkeeping that stops at taxes and compliance. Little explanation, little help unless you ask, and slower answers when you ask in English, because most bookkeepers work in Dutch. Accountants who work in English often cost more than a small business needs. In 2023 I qualified as a Certified Business Bookkeeper; Nuffic rates the diploma as comparable to a Dutch MBO level 4 diploma in financial services. ChillAdmin is what I wanted to find: a bookkeeper who explains, in English, at a fair price.
